How to get to Itacaré
Itacaré is located in the BA-001 highway, between Sierra Grande and Camamu, about 70 km from Ilheus where is the nearest airport.
The BR-101 is the main access for those coming from south Brazil. For those coming from the northern region the best access is by the BA-001.
In general, coming from Salvador and Ilheus the roads are in good condition and well signposted, however, attention must be paid towards many curves and small communities make up the road scenario, so the importance of reducing speed.
